We have been using this hosting provider for a few years and were always satisfied when our business was small..they seem to have gone south when it comes to quality of service and most importantly customer support….maybe an aggressive hiring policy explains it?

In any case, this may good for a baby starting company.. if you plan on growing… try something else.
We were just directed to Lunarpages and will give it a try (with a staging server) just to verify they can replace advantageously our failing provider.

I try to Change my domain to bluehost, but I make a question before transfer and nobody answered me yet (1 week later). If this service are pre-sales…imagine when you have a real problem… BAD support, try other company.

I have been with Bluehost for about 4 years now. My site is always up, I’ve never experienced any downtime. They are very helpful when I call in for assistance.
My hold time is always under 3 minutes. Everyone that I have spoken with has been so nice and knowledgable.

Bluehost is a top notch company!

Their tech support has been superb. Couple of times I had questions that I needed help with and all of my issues were resolved very fast and to my satisfaction. They also helped me out configuring some aspects of OSCommerce free of charge. I host total of 7 sites with them and I’m very happy with bluehost service, uptime and price.

I’ve hosted with other hosts in the past, a few that are even listed on this site, and by far Bluehost exceeded all of my expectations. The customer support is like no other customer support – in ANY vertical. They are a very helpful and bright group of people (who are based in USA!)
The servers are good to me, the email is VERY FAST and the spam filters are great.
Here are the reasons that I chose them
1) Price
2) They don’t host adult(porn) sites (I run a business and don’t need my site on THAT kind of server)
3) I can host many sites on ONE account and there’s no BS ‘setup fees’ or anything like that

Here’s what I found after I signed up with Bluehost:
1) The support is great (they’re really nice)
2) The uptime has been great
3) GOOD Anti-Spam Tools

We used to host with Godaddy. Their support is atrocious. Bluehost is a breath of fresh air.
I chatted with their live sales team before signing up. The operator was responsive and answered all of my questions. I then decided to sign up and it’s been a great experience.

I’ll admit, it took me a little longer than normal to setup my email, but now that it is over I’m in good shape. Good work!!

I’ve been with godaddy, startlogic and now bluehost. By far, bluehost has the best customer service. Im not sure what the others are talking about with their negative reviews, I’m assuming that they are the type of people that expect everything in the entire world for little bucks a month.

If youre a business person like me and value good people, good service and a good value, go with bluehost and you’ll be happy.

Being from Germany support at off hours was a concern. I have been surprised at the quality and timeliness of the email support. Most of questions are answered within 20 – 40 minutes!

My suggestion is for those of you who are considering this company, give them a call. You will see how responsive they are when you do.

I’m under the assumption that those who are dissatisfied with the service (as small as it is) are those types of customers who can never really be happy. But that’s just me. Again, my suggestion is to call.

To describe my experience with Bluehost would take nothing but problems. I had two accounts with Bluehost for two years. The major problems I had with Bluehost were continual downtimes on a regular basis and email never did work on one account.

After looking at this website, I was initially inclined to go with a cheaper and higher rated site, but some of the reviews looked almost “too good to be true” Then I came across BLUEHOST. I called them, and spoke with sales rep. He was helpful and answered my questions.

I use my site primarily it for email and it runs excellent. I’m able to check email on my cell phone and on my outlook. I don’t really have a website right now, just a coming soon page. The tech support is AWESOME. Thanks Bluehost for being so nice and helpful when I call in.

I can highly recommend Bluehost. If you’re a business like me, trust me, you’ll be impressed.

Bluehost has been an easy low cost provider. I have never seen my site go down so the up time is great. The tech support has been there for me whenever I needed it and has been friendly and very knowledgeable . The interface is very easy to use that doesn’t have any confusing links or instructions.

Put it simply Bluehost is straight forward with great support and no headaches.

Bluehost is OK (for a bellow $10/month hosting). The reason you may hear some bad stories about it is because bluehost host hundreds of thousands of websites, so there are bound to be some bad stories stories.

But, in general it’s reliable web hosting company

Good hosts are hard to find. Not any longer! BlueHost is great. Their servers are extremely reliable and they can back up their offerings (e.g., you truly can run 1000 GB of bandwidth). Whenever I had a problem, they were right there and solved it within 24 hours (many times I got a response within a few hours).

If you need a good host, get hosting from BlueHost. You won’t be disappointed.

I was extremely satisfied and recommended Bluehost for two years until this month when apparently their server crashed and we lost everything, WebPages, databases, mails, etc.

Basically our two years of work gone and NO BACKUPs. Bluehost does not guarantee having any backups of their hosting. So when they claim Courtesy Backups (which I interpreted at no cost) mean that they could or they could not backup your site and data.

BlueHost has been a great host. I’ll continue to use them. There are still the ups and downs of shared hosting, but all in all it’s great.
A tip: if you use the mysql database, utilize some kind of cache (ie: wordpress use the wp-cache plugin). This dramatically speeds things up, and it helps everyone out by using the database server less. If everyone did that, it wouldn’t ever get slowed down..

I have been with about 6 different hosting companies over the past 5 years, most of which are well known. None of the companies that hosted my websites comes even close to the support and reliability, not to mention all of the features that come with Bluehost hosting.

I’ve been using Blue Host since June of 2006 and have had a great experience. If I do have a question, I just fill out a ticket and they answer in a few hours.

I’ve been very happy with them and I like that I can pay yearly. Everything is really user friendly. I had a few questions about things when I first started with them, but everything on the hosting panel is pretty easy to figure out.

No one can complain about the price; Unlimited bandwidth and Storage- this was 15Tb of bandwidth and 1.5Tb of Storage when I first signed up, but it was still worth what I pay for it (and I get upgraded should I ever use the space / bandwidth), but its more than anyone will use. Setup is easy, and the control panel is easy to use.

Knowledge base has loads of topics to help people, but people complain that the email support takes too long (took me 4 days to get a response)- don’t use it- use live support instead, and you will get a response within 10 minutes.

One of my gripes with bluehost is the lack of forums- there is only a community created one, and it isn’t the best. The DNS servers are crap, and are constantly going down- make sure you use another DNS server (your domain registrars?) instead.

I’ve been with Bluehost for over a year or so now. I just registered my second domain with them. They have great prices but what I really like is their customer support.

One of their tech guys literally helped me set up a subdomain. He logged into my account and did it for me after walking me though it a few times and I couldn’t figure it out.
They have the best staff and they are really fast.

Their email service isn’t the most reliable. That is the
only downfall I see.

If you are looking for affordable hosting with a LOT of features, go with bluehost. They have so many applications and services, I still haven’t figured out or found a reason to use half of them. I love having the options though. A+++++

BlueHost was cheap enough for me to use for my little hobby site. I was pleased by the thought of 24/7 support but in practice their tech support chat people were rude and not terribly helpful.

I have been with bluehost now for a little over a year and they are brilliant for the money and their tech guys are very good and really try to help.

I would recomend them to my granny. If it is cheap web hosting you require with a lot of the bells and whistles then this will be for you.

I was using godaddy hosting before and when I found out Bluehost, I really thought it is worth a try since a price to host one site on godaddy could host unlimited site on bluehost.

The problem started when I start using their support, often times the live support answers or replies to my concerns too long.

I have had this host for about a week and my first impressions are good. I have not had any problems. Help desk is actually helpful. They called promptly to verify my account. I was not there so I called back. I waited approximately 10 seconds before I got to an operator and it was done in under a minute. Customer support was friendly from what I’ve seen. Also, my website loads faster than with many hosts I had the occasion of working on when working on web dev. contracts. Control Panel is nice and I see no major feature missing. Good impressions.

Website with forums was over 5 years old, 80,000 posts and over 900 members.

A tech reset the account, head tech is telling us they don’t have back ups, due to hard drive failure our last 5 months of back ups are gone and we have to restore back to over 5 months ago. To add even more insult, they are giving us credit for 4 months. Gods is a very hard clan to join and post counts / activity is the best way in.

Now we have lost 5+ recurts history, some have spent months trying to get in.

I just signed up with Bluehost, but after the payment was taken and my account was created, the account was canceled.

The reason given was incorrect contact info. I called their support line, and was told that I would have to snailmail my ID and also give them my password in order to activate my account – i.e. there was no problem with the contact information with my account.

I don’t see any reason why I should have to give my password to them to activate my account, so I canceled it.

Stay away from Bluehost.
