I’ve been using this hosting for more than a year and am pretty happy with it.
I’ve never experienced any downtime or any problem with the speed. When ever my disk space is full I can request for additional diskspace and they ad it in no time.

I’ve had a good experience with this hosting site. They have good customer support and immediate replies to my queries. Have been satisfied with this.

No plans of changing my hosting as of now. Only problem is that Servers are located in the USA so your connection to them can be some times slow becasue of the distance. Other than this negative there is nothing wrong in the server.

Godaddy is a good hosting company. They offer fast and reliable hosting solutions for everyone. I just joined with them around 4 months ago and I am very satisfied with their pricing and customer support.

The only thing I don’t like about godaddy is that don’t offer cpanel. Which makes hosting your website a lot harder. This is their major downfall.

Otherwise they are best in their market for their pricing value and support.

GD has been a very reliable host. I used to be with powweb but had many problems with them (reliability).

After switching, I have had virtually no problems as far as uptime or tech support.

I’ve just started hosting with go daddy and although I have nothing to compare it to it seems pretty good so far.
I got my hosting and domain on sale for $6.96/month.

My only complaint so far is that Their customer support on emails can’t understand most of the time what you asking them for. I didn’t tried phone support yet.

Well I would have to say I believe them. All my domains are registered through them and they even give me a call next day to see if I need any assistance setting anything up and so on.

I love their service. When I first signed up they even gave me a call just to welcome me to their company. So I stick with godaddy.

They suit all my needs for domains.

It usually takes them 24 hrs to respond… but other than that I have not had any complaints. Been with them for over 1 yr now…and will continue using this web host.

What I liked in godaddy:
1) super uptime ratings
2) I could host unlimited domains on one plan
3) free adwords credits,
4) 24/7 support (email, telephone, and Web-based tech support – this does take some time to get a reply from them…)
5) huge amounts of disk space and transfer, good control panel- great value (about $7/month).

Run, don’t walk AWAY from GoDaddy hosting. It is not worth it, no matter how low the monthly rate.

I tried (for the second time) to migrate a perfectly functioning classic ASP site to their Windows server (not a free plan). GoDaddy’s idiot tech support has cost me several hundreds of dollars in time/money, and my client 3 days (so far) of downtime, by jerking me around with so-called resolutions.

ISSUE #1: Their web hosting company turns off server error messages (opting for the f*ck-you “friendly” messages), so you get no useful information back from the server; the kind of must-have information that you need to help troubleshoot server configuration indiosynchracies. 4 different tech support people — consulting with so-called “advanced hosting support” — gave 4 different answer as to the problem/solution.
Even spoke with a supervisor who insisted that I try a solution that I had tried 2 days ago. After waiting all day for that account change to kick in, still no useful error messages. And still no concern on the part of GoDaddy. (Code works perfectly on Fluid Hosting’s Windows server, so it is a server config issue. I never asked them to troubleshoot the code, just to enable the freakin’ error messages.) Which segues to issue #2.

ISSUE #2: When you make changes to the account, it takes up to 24 hours (sometimes up to 72) for those changes to apply. So, each time tech support recommends a so-called fix, you wait 24 hours to learn just how incompetant they are. Rinse, repeat…if you dare.

ISSUE #3: They will tell you that something is supported when it is not. I asked before I ever migrated the site about what ASP components and processes were available. That was like pissing in the wind.
So, if you enjoy pissing into the wind, by all means, host with GoDaddy.com

[I only changed to GoDaddy for this one client, in an attempt to make it easier for the client to have their domain and hosting in the same place -- as I will probably be passing off the project.]

godaddy’s hosting works fine right until something breaks down and you can’t do anything to make it work again. their support has a habit of saying something like “this is a scripting issue, we cannot provide technical support or assistance for any third party code” even if its their standard scripts they install when set an account up.

we have hosted an asp.net site for a few years there, but recently they did something and broke cookieless mode. I just can’t imagine how can it be broken, but support keeps telling us about “scripting issue” again and again and nothing works for several days already, so we’re moving away.

also I don’t understand people considering godaddy a good domain registrar. their habit of selling away domains in a minute after they expire may become a nightmare if you’ve been using a normal registrar before and still think that it will for sure be ok if you pay a little later.

ps. oh, and don’t use their ‘check domain for availability’ panel – if you type in a good looking domain name and don’t purchase it immediatelly, you will soon find out that it has been taken and now somebody sells it for hunderds of dollars. surprise.

The short of it is that GoDaddy used to be really, really horrible (about 10 years ago), but I’ve used them frequently (as a developer) for the last 2 years and really have 99% good experiences.

My first encounter with GoDaddy was about in 2001 and their customer service for their shared hosting was atrocious. However, my second encounter -in 2007- was like night-and-day. This was a shared hosting environment, too, and, honestly, I have trouble imagining more knowledgeable, polite, helpful, and *even* friendly technical support out there. I have spent many late nights programming talking to GoDaddy’s tech support for assistance and it feels like you’re really talking to someone who’s on your team. Plus, oftentimes after you have a good experience with a tech support via the phone, they will send out a survey to for you to review their success — granted, the will likely only send it if they sense that things went well — but even the number of surveys they send out is a quantifiable means for the GoDaddy managers to reward (or get rid of) employees based on merit. Doesn’t get much better than that.

There is a big “however” in this review, in that I have tried their virtual hosting’s “server support plan” and have run into two troubles: (1) shared hosting, oddly, seems to have the newer versions of software and modules than on their virtual/dedicated hosting –often things you don’t think to ask over the phone because it would seem odd not to have a fairly recent version like phpMyAdmin, for example, which is significant from one version to the next. And (2) virtual/dedicated (at least under the “server support plan”) seems to have a considerably less knowledgeable and less friendly technical support. If you are like me, you’re thinking “but aren’t you paying more?” –yes, but oddly they seem to run their technical support for virtual/dedicated as a separate business with separate operational goals.

Their shared hosting is solid – and the technical support on their shared hosting is AWESOME. May not be a good choice if you need something more robust because of how their company is set up. I truly believe that they must have some seriously good leadership at that place if they were able to go from “crappy” to “awesome” in such a short period of time, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m back writing a review in a 2-3 years on how their virtual/dedicated now rocks, too. Hopefully they will get that part of their act together.

Nearly all the codes above have expired or are about to expire. I know th conpany that distributed these XXX1, XXX2, XXX3 etc. codes and they are being updated by GoDaddy.

Here are some replacemtns the those “MTECH” codes above, from the same source. These do not expire until July 2010 (and may go beyond that).

MTECH8 for 10% off your order
MTECH9 for 20% off $50 or more
MTECH10 for 30% off .com domains (and it works on renewals)
No limitations on how much they can be used

MTECH25 for 25% off £65 – or $$ equivalent, currency is irrelevant), but expires 31 August 09.

My first 6 sites went well even though the interface is almost unusable and filled with GoDaddy ads and promos.
This last experience has been extremely unpleasant and I plan to remove all my sites from GoDaddy as soon as they expire.
Despite promises from customer service and their website that my new site would be ready within 24 hours it is still not ready to use four days later.
They promise me and I promised my customer. Now my customer wants to know where his site is and I can’t give him a good answer. It’s costing him money. It’s costing me my cred with a valuable customer and I am super ticked off.
It’s just not worth the problems even if it were free.

I have been using GoDaddy for the past couple of years now, and they have been all right, don’t get me wrong. However, now that we’re using CMS’s (Content Management Systems) such as Joomla, Drupal and WordPress we’re finding there is a horrible “pending” period which can last from 1 hour up to apparently 3 DAYS!

Not only that, but updating from IIS6 to IIS7 took another 3 days, and I’m still waiting! Client is upset that it’s late and everything is ready, we just need to import the database!

Customer service is OK, they did offer free 6 months of hosting, but really – should it have to come to that?

If you’re a starter and don’t need to worry about MySQL databases and administration, then this is actually a good provider.

If you’re more advanced and need more control and reliability then do what I’m doing; switch to HostGator.
